Some customers choose to retain full rights to the software they have written. This is Exclusive software developement. This method is more expensive since the entire development costs are realized for that one customer. One of the benefits of this method is that the customer keeps the "source-code" of the software and retains all rights for the product. It can also be faster to develop exclusive software in some cases since other customer preferences can be factored out of the development process and a very specific piece of software can be written more quickly.
